A scholar and perfectionist, he earned his MBA from the University of Scranton and a Ph.D. in Education from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Over the course of his career, he has written extensively on psychology, business, and management, and has lectured internationally on topics of education and leadership.

After nearly two decades of hands-on experience serving customers in menswear retail, Dr. Chen developed a deep understanding of how men perceive and present themselves through clothing. His insights combine academic rigor with real-world experience, resulting in ideas that are original, practical, and often revolutionary.
